Altars/Tools |
This is my basic altar set-up for rituals. It's not fancy, but it works for me. I will add flowers or other decorations for Sabbat rituals, and when I am doing a magick working, I will, of course, add the necessary items for that. It's a very flexible design. |
This is another view. I use candles to represent the God and Goddess right now. Eventually, I may have small statues to represent them, but for now, and the last 10 years, a red and green candle has served me well. If you decide to use candles, you may decide on different colors, and that is just fine. Do what works for you. The left side of the altar is for all things associated with the Goddess, the right side is for the God. I associate the wand with the Goddess, the athame with the God. Water and salt, I believe, are interchangeable, but I feel water is a little more feminine. The two white bowls contain the water (left) and the sea salt (right). I don't normally have the cauldron on the altar unless I'm working magick, but I like the way it looks, so.... You will also see I have remembered to have a lighter handy. It's very utilitarian, but it works. The big empty space in the middle if for notes, my BOS, or anything else I might need. |
This was my set-up for our online May 31st full/blue moon ritual. |
